Job Description:

Location: Barkhamsted School

Beginning: 2026-2027 School Year, official start date of 8/24/26

Certification: Comprehensive Special Education, K-6 (165)

Qualifications:  
Holds or is eligible for the CT Comprehensive Special Education endorsement (165).
Knowledge of various disabilities and effective strategies to address them.
Patience, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to the success of students with special needs.
Strong understanding of CT Core standards and curriculum for elementary grades.
Enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a grade level team.
Ability to meet the diverse learning needs of elementary age learners.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
